Tamil moviegoers witnessed Vijay and Ajith battle it out at the box office with "Jilla" and "Veeram" in 2014. Now, it is Vikram's turn to take on Thala, with "I" and "Yennai Arindhaal" getting ready for Pongal release.
On Saturday, 22 November, it was formally announced that "Yennai Arindhaal", which was supposed to release for Christmas, has been postponed. The makers announced that the movie will release for Pongal instead. Soon after their announcement, it was revealed that Shankar's "I" too has joined the race.
Shankar's "I" will also be releasing in January 2015 for Pongal, which is considered to be the best season for Tamil films after Diwali. It will be a rare battle for the two Tamil stars.
'Yennai Arindhaal'
Ajith Kumar, Trisha Krishnan and Anushka Shetty starrer is directed by Gautham Menon and produced by AM Rathnam. The names of the hero and the director make the movie one of the most-awaited films of recent times.
"Yennai Arindhaal" will have a wide release and is likely to release simultaneously in Telugu too. However, the audio of the film is yet to be released and is likely to hit shelves in December. The film is presently in its post production stage and its promotions will begin soon.
Shankar's "I"
Shankar's "I" is bigger than "Yennai Arindhaal" in terms of budget and quality. The audio launch event alone garnered huge attention with Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger attending the music album launch. The trailer of the movie has raised the expectations and people are desperately waiting for the film to release.
The Vikram and Amy Jackson starrer is also in the post production stage. The film produced by Aascar Ravichandran will simultaneously release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
