Since the day Ajith's latest flick "Yennai Arindhaal" completed 25 day at the box office, the fans and industry experts are now waiting to see if the movie can surpass the 50 day mark in the box office. Some ardent fans Thala fans believe that the movie can easily make it to the mark where as some see this to be a difficult task because of several reasons.
"Yennai Arindhaal", which was released on 5 February had a mass opening and the movie has turned out to be the most successful movie of Ajith till date. With Gautham Menon's aesthetic sense flavoured with Ajith's mass appeal, the movie is now entering fifth week in the theatres. Some of the theatres in Chennai as well as in Malaysia have also managed to retain screens for the movie, despite the release of biggies like Dhanush's "Anegan" and Siva Karthikeyan's "Kakki Sattai".
However, this doesn't look smooth for the Ajith starrer to reach the big 50 day mark because of several reasons. Firstly, Tamil industry is going to be flooded with some big releases in next three months. The fifth weekend of the movie itself will clash with 11 releases in Tamil including the Siddharth starrer, "Enakkul Oruvan".
If "Enakkul Oruvan" manages to get a positive response, probabilities are that the theatre owners will be forced to ditch "Yennai Arindhaal" for the latest release. Moreover, Karth's "Komban", Simbu's "Vaalu" has also scheduled the release on 27 March which will also steal away some screens but the release of Kamal Haasan's "Uthama Villain" on 2 April can be perceived as a forthcoming storm which will snatch away almost all screens for the Ajith starrer.
Other disadvantage that has posed as a threat to the movie in terms of the collection is that it was not exempted from entertainment tax like its contemporary movies.
It is true that "Yennai Arindhaal" has many threats on its way to reach the big 50-day mark, but if the film manages to cross it, Ajith and team of "Yennai Arindhaal' has every reason to celebrate it.
