Ajith starrer "Yennai Arindhaal" has successfully completed 25 days in theatres. The movie has made remarkable business at the box office.
After postponing it a few times, the makers finally released "Yennai Arindhaal" on 5 February. The Tamil film had a solo release and completed its 25-day run in theatres on Sunday, 1 March. The Gautham Menon directorial opened to mixed reviews and got fantastic response at collection centres in the first weekend.
"Yennai Arindhaal" got a record non-holiday opening as it raked in ₹14.5 crore on the release day itself. In the next four days, the Tamil film grossed ₹53.5 crore worldwide, ending its first weekend on a high note.
"Yennai Arindhaal" is not like regular films as Ajith's character is very different. The film is made in typical Gautham Menon-style and there have been fears whether the mass will enjoy the film.
But "Yennai Arindhaal" has managed to overcome such talks and remained strong at collection centres. It was also said that the release of "Anegan" would hamper the prospects of Ajith's film and to some extent it turned true as Gautham Menon's film was forced to share some big screens with Dhanush's flick.
Nonetheless, "Yennai Arindhaal" continued to pull audience to theatres. We should note that the class audience have liked the film more than the mass.
As per the traders, the movie has been considered as an above-average grosser. In overseas, it has become a big hit as the film made good collections in the US, Malaysia and a few other countries.
"Yennai Arindhaal" is an action-drama film produced by M Rathnam. The film narrates the journey of Satyadev (Ajith) from age 13 to 38. Trisha Krishnan, Anushka Shetty and Arul Vijay are in the prominent roles.
