The Tamil movie was released in close to 1000 screens; in Tamil Nadu alone, it was released in more than 500 theatres.
To mark the 100th day, the makers of the film are expected to organise a function. Ajith fans too are expected to celebrate on 16 May, especially on social media, with a new hashtag.
"Yennai Arindhaal" grossed over ₹100 crore as per trade reports. The film got off to a flying start at the box office, but slowed down after the second week. As the film lacked mass elements, it could not generate the craze that a usual Ajith film manages to, at theatres. In the process, it turned out to be an average film.
The film stars Ajith, Trisha Krishnan and Anushka Shetty in lead roles. Arun Vijay plays the role of a baddie with Vivek doing the comedian role. The movie was written and directed by Gautham Menon, and produced by AM Rathnam.
"Yennai Arindhaal" has Harris Jayaraj's music, Dan Macarthur's cinematography and Anthony's editing. Parvathy Nair, Ashish Vidyarthi, Suman, Avinash, RNR Manohar, Daniel Balaji, Nasser, Rajeevan and others are in the cast. Gautham Menon has done a cameo in the film.
