For the past several months, rumours of Hina Khan aka Akshara of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai throwing tantrums on the sets have been making headlines. However, the latest buzz is that the actress, who had been the face of the show for the past seven years, has taken the exit route.
According to reports about Saas Bahu Aur Saazish, Star Plus channel and the creative team of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai have decided to end Hina's character.
Hina's co-star also confirmed the news to Mid-Day saying that her lack of punctuality and absence from the sets have resulted in the makers taking the stern decision. "Her lack of punctuality and truancy have been a headache for the makers. Recently, she claimed to be suffering from dengue, but somehow managed to give interviews to channels," Hina's co-star said.
A crew member of the show added: "The writers have to constantly change the script since Hina is unavailable to shoot most of the time. Though currently serving notice period, she is being unprofessional by not showing up."
Earlier, rumour had it that the actress was not happy with the show's focus shifting towards the young actors and wanted the makers to put her in the limelight once again. Considering that the show has had moved on from Akshara-Naitik to the younger generation's love story, which is being well-accepted by the viewers, the makers were having a tough time giving into Hina's unreasonable demands.
Although Hina has not commented on the latest report, she had earlier said Saas Bahu Aur Saazish team that she was not quitting the show as of now but was open to new projects. She had also refuted the rumours of her being insecure of the young actors on the sets.
