Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit will be seen matching footsteps with Ranbir Kapoor in his upcoming film "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani".
The actress has reportedly shot for an item song for the Ayan Mukherjee-directed film.
The song choreographed by Farah Khan will have Madhuri introducing the character of Bunny played by Ranbir Kapoor in the film.
The official page for "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" on April 24 posted a tweet: "Today Bunny aka #RanbirKapoor's introduction song is being shot with the Legendary @MadhuriDixit1. Choreographed by @TheFarahKhan #YJHD."
Farah Khan also tweeted, "On way 2 shoot song now 4 yeh jawani hain diwaani..shooting with madhuri after 11 yrs! N 1st time with ranbir..n Finally with ayaan!"
This is the first time Ranbir will be sharing screen space with his childhood idol Madhuri Dixit.
A source told Daily Bhaskar, "Ayan, Karan Johar, Ranbir want to ensure that Madhuri's debut in Dharma Productions would be just right."
"Ranbir is an unabashed Madhuri film. He had a crush on her when his dad worked with Madhuri in Sahibaan, Prem Granth and Yaraana. He would go on the sets simply to watch her. They have to make sure the number turns out just the way audiences expect it to."
The song will reunite Farah and Madhuri, who had worked together in "Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam" way back in 2002.
"Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", which also stars Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapoor is slated to release on 31 May.
