"Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani" is close to crossing the ₹100 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The romantic film had earned a total of ₹97.21 crore in just four days overseas.
Ayan Mukherji's directorial film has earned double digit figures i.e. ₹13 crore on its first Monday, which comes as a surprise since collections usually remain low on the first day of the week.
The Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer proved that it is going to create history. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film is set to rewrite the rules of the box office game.
On Monday, the film minted ₹13 crore taking the overall four-day total to ₹75.11 crore.
Friday: ₹19.45 crores
Saturday: ₹20.16 crore
Sunday: ₹22.5 crore
Monday: ₹13 crore.
"At the rate it is faring, don't be surprised if #YehJawaaniHaiDeewani touches ₹100 crore mark in Week 1 itself. BLOCKBUSTER," Adarsh tweeted.
In international markets too, the film is smashing all records. In its opening weekend, the total overseas collections of the film stands at ₹22.10 crore ($ 3.9 million).
"YJHD" now requires approximately ₹3 crore to touch the century mark at the worldwide box office. YJHD" will be this year's first film to join the elite ₹100 crore club within five days of its release.
"Race 2" had made it to "century club" within seven days of its release. While "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" and "Dabangg 2" had crossed the figure in five days of their release overseas.
The film made on a budget of ₹40 crore has already earned the production cost in just two days.
