Newly released film "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" has become Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's biggest opener ever in the international market.
The film, pushing behind "Race 2", has emerged as the biggest opener of the year 2013 till now.
The opening weekend overseas total of the film stands at approximately ₹19.25 crore.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the country wise overseas breakup of the film is:
UK and Ireland: "YJHD" had minted ₹3.49 crore (£ 4, 05,784) from 88 screens. The film also debuted at the eighth position in UK.
US and Canada: It raked in ₹9.33 crore ($ 16, 51,000) from 162 screens and debuted at the ninth position.
UAE: Till Saturday, the film earned ₹4.61 crore (AED 30, 00,000).
Australia: "YJHD" collected ₹1.46 crore (A$ 2, 67,920) from 17 screens and debuted at the fifth position.
New Zealand: The film raked in ₹36.33 lakh (NZ$ 80,648) from 10 screens and debuted at fifth position.
The film earned the highest at the US and Canada box offices while in New Zealand, it's business was on an average note.
With this the film has again shattered the record of "Race 2" which collected ₹17.26 crore in the first three days of its release overseas. But "YJHD" failed to beat the record of "Dabangg 2" which minted ₹21.98 crore ($4 million) in the opening weekend.
The Ranbir and Deepika starrer is finally ending the dry spell at the box office. If the film continues to rake in money at this pace, then it might cross the ₹100 crore mark in worldwide collections in the first week.
