Last week's release "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" is getting tremendous response at theatres in India. The film produced by Dharma Productions, has minted ₹98.11 crore from the domestic box office till 6 June.
The film starring ex-lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles is all set to rake in ₹100 crore in India and join the league with other films like "Ek Tha Tiger", "Rowdy Rathore" and others.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film will make it the century mark by Thursday itself.
The film has maintained the double digit figure at the box office and has become a blockbuster hit. The romantic film on the opening day raked in ₹19.45 crore, Saturday ₹20.16 crore, Sunday ₹22.5 crore, Monday ₹13 crore, Tuesday ₹12 crore and Wednesday approximately ₹11 crore, in India.
The film has maintained a good pace in collections in Mumbai, Delhi and East Punjab. Also in southern circuits like Tamil Nadu, where generally Hindi films do not usually fare well, "YJHD" is a superhit.
The songs, trailer and Ranbir and Deepika's onscreen chemistry sparked huge hype among movie buffs.
Also, the huge number of screens (3,000) and increased ticket prices helped the film to earn ₹98 crore in just six days of its release. "YJHD" has created its magic at multiplexes, but at single screens the collections remained comparatively dull.
"YJHD" is also maintaining a good position at the overseas box office. The film earned ₹57.71 lakh at the New Zealand box office in six days, ₹2.06 crore in Australia and ₹5.08 crore in the UK.
