Popular television actor Barun Sobti once said, stars in the television industry aren't taken care of and are more often than not taken for a ride. "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" actor Aly Goni aka Romi's story is no different.
Three years ago, a starry-eyed Aly entered the glamour world hoping to make it big, but the reality hit him hard.
In his interview with Mid-Day, the actor said initially his time wasn't respected and was paid as low as Rs 3,000. When he had started out, he would hardly be given any money for the work he had done. Also, he was paid peanuts for "YHM" but his fee improved with time as his character gained popularity.
"I have been with them for three years now, so I get a lot more respect. With respect to other production houses, earlier, I would have to stand in line and wait for auditions, but now they call me at a particular time and it gets over within 10-15 minutes. They respect my time now," the leading daily quoted him as saying.
However, Aly plays the lead role of Raj alongside Asha Negi in "Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan" but the show is reportedly set to go off air next year in January.
Raj Singh Arora, who plays the role of Mihir in "YHM", also had his two cents on the ever-changing TV industry.
Arora said his decision to grow a beard didn't sit well with the show's producers, but when he explained how as a regular guy his character could go for a rugged look, the producers agreed with his decision.
