Karan Patel aka Raman of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, will soon be sharing the screen space with his real life parents-in-law. While Abhay Bhargava (Karan's father-in-law) has been playing the role of Karan's on-screen father-in-law, Kiran Bhargava (Karan's mother-in-law) has recently joined the cast of the show.
Kiran will play the role of Mani's (Sumit Sachdev) mother and will start shooting for the show from Friday, October 7 onwards. She will have a South Indian look and will play a key role in Raman and Ishita's (Divyanka Tripathi) life, Bollywood Life reported.
Karan married Ankita Bhargava after Abhay found him to be a suitable match for his daughter. Karan and Ankita Bhargava's marriage had sparked controversy as Karan was said to be in a serious relationship with Kamya Punjabi before meeting Ankita. Since then, rumours of their troubled marriage have been doing the rounds, despite the actors repeatedly denying any issues in their married life.
While Karan's fans must be excited to see his real life family on the show, it is Karan's wife Ankita who is highly excited to see her husband and parents on the same show.
In other news, Karan made headlines recently when he snubbed Om Puri on Twitter. Puri, during a television debate regarding the ban of Pakistani artistes in Bollywood following the Uri attack, had made derogatory comments on Indian soldiers. While the senior actor's comment received backlash from millions of Indians, Karan too slammed Puri. "Mr. Om puri (actor) this isnt #ChinaGate #Film ... so kindly shut the fu*k up and keep the bizarre suggestions to yourself. Kuch kaam karlo (do some work)," he tweeted. Karan's comment invited mixed response from his fans with some supporting him, while a few favoured Puri.
