The Deols are finally back with the much-awaited Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se! The trailer of the third film in the Yamla Pagla Deewana franchise was released this afternoon. The film stars the Deol patriarch Dharmendra along with his two sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.
The first Yamla Pagla Deewana, released in 2011, was a cracker of a comedy, with the three actors nailing the comic timing, especially Dharmendra and Bobby Deol. The movie was directed by Samir Karnik and had Kulraj Randhawa paired opposite Bobby Deol.
The second Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 aka YPD2 was directed by Sangeeth Sivan and had Neha Sharma and Kristina Akheeva as the female leads. Though it was a comedy, it did not get as much of a response from the audience as the first instalment.
After a gap of a good five years, the third film from the Yamla Pagla Deewana franchise is here, directed by Navaniat Singh. Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se doesn't seem too funny either, although the Deols are trying. However, it looks better than the second part, and we hope it is. This time, the movie also stars veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha as a lawyer who sounds his famous "Khamosh!", as seen in the trailer.
The film's plot revolves around searching for liquor in a dry state, as the Deols are in Gujarat pretending to Gujarati, for the girl whom Bobby has fallen in love with. The lead actress in Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is Kriti Kharbanda.
Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se has a "special song", a version of the classic Rafta Rafta, and the song has cameos by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, veteran actress Rekha, and 'Shotgun Junior' Sonakshi Sinha. The trailer reveals a glimpse of the song, too, where Sunny Deol can be seen telling Salman Khan "Chup!" We wonder if this means anything, but fans are loving this bit, going by the comments on YouTube.
