Close on the heels of the launch of its new 110cc motorcycle SalutoRX, Yamaha India is now rumoured to be getting ready to launch a new motorcycle in the Indian market. A report of MotorOctane says that Yamaha is readying a 100cc bike for the Indian market.
Yamaha, which is looking to expand its reach in the Indian market, would launch the new 100cc bike in 2017, says the report. Other details of the bike are scanty at this point of time since the model is believed to be in its initial stage. The company, which is eyeing sales of 12 lakh units in 2017, is also likely to add new models in the 110cc and 125cc segments.
Yamaha India recently launched its 110cc bike SalutoRX at Rs. 46,400 (ex- showroom Delhi). The SalutoRX, which caters to the entry-level commuter segment, is powered by a single-cylinder 110cc engine that develops 7.37bhp and 7000rpm and 8.5Nm of torque at 4500rpm mated to four-speed transmission. This engine is compliant with the BS-IV norms.
The motorcycle, which weighs just 98 kg, claims to deliver an impressive fuel efficiency of 82kmpl. Available in four colours — Inspiring Red, Gleaming Black, Matt Black and Breezy Blue — Yamaha SalutoRX features 10-spoke aluminium alloy wheels, digital instrument cluster and engine start-stop button.
