Yamaha Motor India has introduced the updated models of its scooter range in India including Alpha, Ray and Ray Z with the company's Next Generation 'Blue Core' technology.
The 'Blue Core' technology is a concept developed to increase combustion efficiency and cooling efficiency and to reduce power loss. With the addition of the new technology, the scooter range of Yamaha will now give a re-run of 66kmpl. Previously it was 62kmpl.
The scooters are also available in new colour and graphic schemes. While the Alpha gets gleaming gold in its colour panel, the Ray Z is available in cyan splash. The Alpha gleaming gold variant is priced at ₹49,939 while the Ray Z cyan splash and Ray get a price tag of ₹48,936 and ₹47,805 respectively.
All three scooters get power from the same 113cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine that can pump in a power of 7.1PS and a peak torque of 8.1Nm.
"We are eying around 10% share in the fast-growing scooter market in India this year riding on our three scooter offerings. Currently, we have over 5 per cent market share in the scooter segment, which is pegged at around 3 lakh units per month. The successes of the Ray, Ray Z, and Alpha scooters are essential to Yamaha to realize its targets in the coming years," said Roy Kurian, Vice-President, Yamaha Motor India Sales.
