Here is a good news for all bike lovers in the country, who have been waiting to hear the launch news of Yamaha's stylish R25 in the country.
A new report surfaced online claims that the Japanese sports bike-maker Yamaha will be bringing its R25 bikes to India later this year.
The powerful and stylish Yamaha R25, which is already in sales in Indonesia has been rumoured for India launch quite sometimes now. Now a latest RushLane report via Castrol Biking suggest that the R25 could reach Indian shores in late 2014. Though we are not sure regarding the authenticity of the report, the latest piece of information sounds interesting.
In Indonesia, R25 comes loaded with a 250cc liquid-cooled, in-line, four-stroke, two-cylinder engine, which can churn out a power of 36 bhp, 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.1 Nm at 10,000 rpm.
Built on Tubular Diamond chassis, latest in the R-series line up comes with Telescopic suspension at the front and monocross suspension at the rear.
In terms of the dimseions, R25 measures 2,090 mm in length, 720 mm in width, 1,135 mm in height and has a seat height of 780 mm. Seated on a wheelbase of 1,380 mm, the bike weighs 166 kgs and has a fuel tank capacity of 14.3 liters. It comes with features like fuel consumption indicator, oil change indicator, trip and odo-meter and engine temperature warning.
If reports are to be believed, in India, R25 will come with single cylinder 250cc motor and will be brought to the country as Completely Knocked Down (CKD).
Once it hits the market, R25 will be pinned to rival the Hyosung GT250R, Kawasaki Ninja 250 Mono and Honda CBR250R and is likely to get a price tag between ₹2.5-₹3 lakh.
Meanwhile, in Indonesia, Yamaha R25 sales surpassed its rivals' Kawasaki Ninja 250 FI and Honda CBR 250R in August. The company sold 2,202 units of R25, where as the Kawasaki Ninja 250R sales figure stood at 2,159 units.
