Yamaha unveiled M-Slaz, the naked sibling of the R15 motorcycle, in Thailand last year and the motorcycle is reportedly heading to India this year. The 150cc motorcycle will be launched in India during the festive season, CarblogIndia reported.
The M-Slaz features Kawazaki Z series inspired headlamp unit, which is more angular and razor-sharp. The headlamps feature LED lights. The tail lamp also received LED treatment. The digital instrument cluster comes with blue background lights and it shows a host of rider information. The motorcycle comes with a push start button similar to the other naked model of Yamaha such as MT09 and MT07.
M-Slaz is powered by the same 149cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine in the R15. The mill develops 16.9bhp and 14.3Nm of torque mated to six-speed sport transmission. The M-Slaz features upside down 37mm suspension in front and mono-suspension at the rear. The naked motorcycle in the absence of fairing will add fenders on both sides of the fuel tank. Spilt seat, wide handle bar and body graphics are also part of the M-Slaz.
The motorcycle measures 1,959mm in length, 795mm in width, 1,065mm in height and 135kg of weight. The motorcycle has 10.2-litre fuel tank capacity. Both the tyres of the M-Slaz are equipped with disc brakes. The motorcycle is expected to cost close to Rs. 1.25 lakh in India.
