The invite reads "Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. gears up to unveil a new chapter", according to RushLane.
Yamaha's stunning FZ-S motorbike was first unveiled at Delhi Auto Expo 2014, and since then two wheeler enthusiasts in the country have been waiting to see it on the road. Earlier this month, the bike was caught testing in the country, signaling its arrival.
The updated FZ-S is expected to receive cosmetic upgrades as well as new features like split seats, reworked headlights, new tail lamps, full digital instrument console along with visor and body decals.
Though Yamaha has not divulged details of the FZ-S; under the hood, the bike is likely to pack 153cc air-cooled engine, which can pump in a 14PS of power at 7,000 rpm and 13.6 Nm peak torque at 6,500 rpm mated to 5 speed gearbox.
Yamaha's new offering will be competing with TVS Apache RTR 160 and upcoming Suzuki Gixxer, which is expected to make its India entry in near future.
The competition in the two wheeler market is going to be tougher with the new launches . Foreseeing this, Yamaha India recently introduced new shades for the company's best-selling motorcycles FZ, FZ-S and Fazer. All three bikes have been introduced with new colours along with new graphics. While the Fazer received three colours - terrain white, wilderness black and ravine red, the FZ comes in panther black, raider red and ambush blue shades. The FZ-S boasts of colours like pouncing black, preying red, and hawk eye gold.
Currently, The Fazer is priced at ₹77,351, FZ is priced at ₹70,411 and FZ-S is available for ₹72,385 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Rumours are rife that the upcoming new avatar of FZ-S is likely to be priced a little higher than its current model.
