It has been only hours since Sony commenced the Android 5.0 Lollipop global roll-out for Xperia Z3 series devices, now the company seems to be readying to release the candy-flavoured Google mobile OS to Xperia Z.
The company's mobile division, Sony Xperia (via official Google+ page), has teased the Xperia Z with Android 5.0 Lollipop's lock-screen notification feature with – "Coming Soon" tag, hinting Sony might release the new update to the first generation Xperia smartphone, ahead of newer Z1 and Z Ultra models.
The company is yet to reveal the actual time-frame of update release for Xperia Z, but has announced that the global roll-out of Android 5.0 Lollipop for Xperia Z3, Z Compact, Z3 Tablet Compact has already begun and for the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet will commence next week.
Other devices that are confirmed to get the new OS include Xperia Z Ultra GPE (Google Play Edition), Xperia Z, Xperia ZR, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1s, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Tablet, Xperia Tablet Z and Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia C3 and Xperia T2 Ultra.
Android 5.0 Lollipop will bring the new design language - Material Design - with interactive user interface, lots of animation graphics, replacement of Dalvik with ART as its default runtime will bring improvement in performance-and-battery-life enhancement, new TouchWiz UI features, refurbished interface, lock-screen notification options and many more features.

Other key enhancements include the option to transfer apps from device's flash storage to SD card memory and multi-user profiles (work, private & guest).
