Xolo Win Tab with Windows v8.1 OS Launched in India; Specifications, Price Details

Home grown smartphone maker, Xolo launched the Windows 8.1 OS powered slate Win Tab in India on Wednesday (11 June).

The new Xolo Win Tab is a mid-range device that sports 10.1-inch HD (1366x768p) LED screen with aluminum cover to provide sturdy and metallic finish to the device and is powered by a 1.0GHz AMD Temash A4-1200 processor backed by a Radeon HD 8180 graphics engine, sumptuous 2GB RAM and 32GB eMMC(expandable) inbuilt storage.

Other stipulated features include 2.0-megapixel primary camera on the rear side, 1.0-megapixel HD web-camera on the front and it packs a battery which can run the device for close to 6 hours.

Xolo Win Tab has been made available online via Flipkart for ₹19,990 with exclusive launch-day offers which includes - ₹200 cash-back on writing device reviews/rating after the purchase, ₹1500 worth e-books (pre-selected), extra 50 percent off on next purchase of Bluetooth based keyboard; that's not all; the e-commerce site is also offering tablet exchange program- prospective buyers can trade-in their old device with the new Xolo tablet for discounts up to ₹3,000, thereby reducing the price to ₹16,990.

Besides Xolo, Micromax is the only other domestic brand to launch the Windows powered tablet PC in India, but it wasn't a pure Microsoft OS based device. LapTab was a dual-boot slate which also ran Android software. It too sports a 10.1-inch HD (1280x800p) LCD screen and boasts of dual-booting modes - Android Jelly Bean v4.2.2 and the Microsoft's Windows 8.1.

Under the hood, it houses a 1.46GHz Intel® Celeron®N2805 processor paired with 2GB RAM, 32GB flash memory (expandable up to 64GB) , a 7,400 mAh battery and comes with wireless keyboard with 230 mAh battery, which can run up to 20 plus hours in full charge. It also ships with a 2.0-megapixel camera on the  front side with light sensor.
