Indian smartphone maker XOLO has launched another budget android handset -- Q900s -- at ₹8,299. The new smartphone has been listed on the manufacturer's official website, though the company has remained tight-lipped about the availability of the handset.
Measuring 135.8x67.2x7.2mm, the XOLO Q900s weighs just 100gm and is the lightest android smartphone available till date. Significantly, the predecessor, Q900 also weighs the same.
Q900s, the dual SIM GSM android phone sports a 4.7-inch HP IPS display at 720x1080 pixels resolutions with a pixel density of 312 pixels per inch. The manufacturer has also mentioned that the Q900s will come equipped with the OGS (One Glass Solution) and Dragon Trail Glass for added protection. Incidentally, another successful budget android smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 1s also features the Dragon Trail Glass.
Powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8212 SoC, the XOLO Q900s comes coupled with 1 GB RAM and 8GB of ROM. The device also features a MicroSD card slot for expanding the memory limit up to 32GB.
On the camera front, the Q900s boasts of an 8MP rear camera with Purecel sensor and LED Flash and a 2MP front camera for video calling and selfie utilities. On connectivity, the Q900s includes all the essentials including 3G, WiFI, GPS/A-GPS, Micro USB and Bluetooth. It also features all the necessary sensors including accelerometer, magnetometer, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor.
Powered by an 1800 mAh battery, XOLO claims Q900s will deliver 14 hours of talk time and up to 246 hours of standby time on 3G networks.
XOLO has launched this budget android smartphone at a significant time when Xiaomi got a ban order on selling devices in India. Indian manufacturers like XOLO, Micormax, Karbonn, Spice, Intex and other budget smartphone manufacturers are expected to achieve promising sales boost and regain the market they lost to devices like Xiaomi Redmi 1s and Xiaomi Redmi Note.
