Xolo is expanding its smartphone portfolio with new budget phones to attract Indian consumers. The latest in the company's lineup is the Xolo A1010, duly fitting into the entry-level smartphone category. The latest Android-powered smartphone is low on specs but Xolo justifies the minimalism with its affordable price tag.
Xolo A1010 is a dual-SIM, Android 4.4 KitKat-powered budget smartphone. It features a 5-inch display with a measly resolution of 480x854 pixels and a pixel density of 196ppi. The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor, which is backed by 512MB RAM and 395MHz Mali 400 GPU. Users can store music, images and other files in the handset's 4GB internal space, which can further be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.
Adding to the list of low-end features is a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a VGA front shooter. There's a commendable 2,500mAh battery to keep the power running for around 13 hours on 3G talktime or up to 23 hours on music playback. The handset feels extremely light on hand as it weighs 96grams only.
Xolo A1010 is exclusively available via HomeShop18 and also on its own official online store. But those who purchase the handset from HomeShop18 will get Rs. 500 worth gift voucher.
By launching A1010, Xolo seems to be competing with Karbonn's recent Titanium Dazzle, which features slightly better specs at the same price. The competition in the budget smartphone race is quite compact as more and more companies launch new handsets to stay ahead of their rivals.
Xolo recently launched a Windows Phone based Win Q1000 for Rs. 8,499 and also introduced Xolo Q520 last month with almost similar specifications.
