Early this week, home-bred smartphone-maker Xolo unveiled a feature-rich Black series handset in India.
Xolo Black will go on sale on 13 July exclusively via Flipkart. To provide some perspective on the device, we have listed top five key aspects of the new device, so that users can use this information to decide whether the flagship phablet is worth the money or not.
Design and Build Quality:
Xolo Black boasts 5.5-inch full HD (1,920x1,080p) display. In its bid to make the phone more durable, the company has incorporated Corning Gorilla Glass 3 shield on both sides with an additional layer of oleophobic coating making the phone stain-and-smudge free.
Dual-Camera:
Xolo Black is shipped with feature-rich dual-camera on the rear side. It's 13mp camera comes with an additional 2mp snapper on the side to provide enriching photography experience.
For the uninitiated, this additional camera sensor besides the primary camera module of Xolo Black is used to capture detailed depth information of the scene enabling user to re-focus objects on the photos, which are already taken via Ubifocus application.
On the front, it houses a 5mp snapper with smart LED flash to get good quality photos under low-light conditions.
64-Bit Class SoC (System on Chip):
Xolo Black comes packed with 64-bit class based Snapdragon 615 Octa-core SoC (System on Chip), manufactured by industry leader Qualcomm.
The advantage of having a 64-bit processor is that the phone's performance and RAM management will be more optimised and efficiently used among the apps. Users are less likely to face lag during multi-tasking.
Snapdragon 615 chip comes with H.265/High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), which enables faster computational operations. It will be aptly backed by Adreno 405 graphics engine and 2GB DDR3 RAM.
Battery:
Xolo Black houses 3,200mAh (Lithium polymer). It comes with optimisation features, which help phones to last 20% longer than conventional phones with same battery power.
Xolo Black users will get close to 36 hours, six minutes of talk-time and up to 735 hours, 31 minutes stand-by time.
4G-LTE:
With 4G LTE connectivity support, Xolo Black users will be able to download files with 150mbps speed and upload those with 50mbps.
[Note: Internet speed depends on network carrier's service and regions]
Price:
Despite boasting top-of-the-line hardware, it still comes with pocket-friendly ₹12,999 price tag. It is poised to give a stiff challenge to popular devices like Xiaomi Mi 4i, Asus Zenfone 2 series, Micromax Canvas Sliver, Lenovo K3 Note and Meizu M1 Note.
