Xiaomi impressed us all by making its concept phone Mi MIX available in the market, but the company is not done just yet. According to a source, the Chinese smartphone maker is working on a mini version of its concept phone, to be called Mi MIX Nano.
Interestingly, the source shared an image on China's social networking site Weibo and revealed the key specs of the unannounced handset. As per the tipster, the Mi MIX Nano will feature a 5.5-inch display with 90 percent screen-to-body ratio, which is comparatively lesser than the original Mi MIX smartphone. But there must be some limitations to a toned-down version and this could be one of them.
The Mi MIX Nano is said to be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, paired with 4GB RAM, Android 6.0 Marshmallow and 64GB onboard storage. As for the design, nothing much can be made out given its blurry nature, but if the mini variant does exist, it would likely follow in line as its elder sibling.
The mobile tipster went on the reveal the pricing of the Mi MIX Nano to be ¥3000, which roughly translates to about Rs. 30,000. Xiaomi launched the Mi MIX in China for ¥3499, but it has no plans to make the handset available in India.
Other details such as the battery and the camera configuration are not known at the moment. Quite frankly, it is too soon to predict whether the rumours are true or not.
For those who are unaware, Xiaomi launched the Mi MIX in China last month. The handset features a 6.4-inch edgeless screen with 17:9 display ratio, a 16MP primary camera with PDAF, LED flash and a 5MP front snapper. It is powered by a Snapdragon 821 chipset, 4GB/6GB RAM, and 128GB/256GB storage.
Xiaomi Mi MIX features a 4,400mAh battery under its ceramic body and has fingerprint scanner for authentication. It runs Android Marshmallow based MIUI 8.
