Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi, which extended its products' availability in multiple e-commerce sites ahead of the festive season in India, has begun reaping the benefits. The company has sold over five lakh smartphones in the ongoing pre-Diwali sale on Flipkart and Amazon India.
As per Xiaomi, Redmi 3S (along with Redmi 3S Prime) has been the top-selling product on Flipkart in the Big Billion Days Sale, while Redmi Note 3 is the best-selling smartphone of Amazon's Great Indian Festival sale.
Four Xiaomi devices - Redmi Note 3 (Gold), Redmi Note 3 (Grey), Mi Band 2 and 10000mAh Mi Power Bank, have made it to the top six selling products list in the electronics category of Amazon.
"We are extremely proud to be sharing this milestone with our fans, partners and employees. More than six months of rigorous planning and hard work has helped us set a new benchmark in the industry," Manu Jain, India Head, Xiaomi, said, in a statement.
"Last year we sold more than half a million phones in 30 days during the month of October, and this year we were able to achieve a similar number within three days. Based on what we know, no other brand has ever achieved this in India," he added.
Furthermore, Xiaomi's Redmi and Mi series phones are also on the list of best-sellers in Snapdeal's Unbox Diwali Sale and Tata Cliq's Festober Sale.
Last month, Redmi Note 3's online sales had breached 2.3 million mark, making it the most sold smartphone brand on e-commerce sites.
Xiaomi had a long spell of dull sales between late 2015 and the first quarter of 2016, but the introduction of Redmi Note 3 in March turned things around for Xiaomi.
