Xiaomi launched the much-anticipated Redmi Note 3G and 4G models in India on Monday. The 3G model of the device will be up for pre-orders on Tuesday (25 November) at 6 p.m. while the 4G model will be available at Airtel stores in the second half of next month.
Registration for Xiaomi Redmi Note can be done exclusively on e-commerce retailer Flipkart starting 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The device will be launched on 2 December with the 3G model priced at ₹8,999, and the 4G model at ₹9,999.
Launched in July this year, the Xiaomi Redmi Note sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS Touchscreen display with 1280 x720 pixels (267ppi), protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and has a dimension of 154x78.7x9.45 mm. It is powered by 8-Core MTK 6592 1.7GHz processor and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS but Android 5.0 Lollipop update is expected to be made available to the device soon.
The 3G model of Xiaomi Redmi Note comes packed with 8GB internal memory, 2GB RAM and a microSD slot. It has a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera with features like ƒ/2.2 aperture and 28mm wide angle lens.
The 3,100 mAh Lithium-Ion Polymer battery that powers the device can last 14 hours - 3G internet use, 38 hours - 2G internet use, 60 hours - music playback, and 775 hours standby time. On connectivity front, the dual SIM device supports 3G (WCDMA)/2G (GSM), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and GPS + AGPS.
On the other hand, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G model is a single SIM device, powered by a Quadcore Snapdragon processor that clocks at 1.6GHz, and has external microSD slot that supports up to 64GB. The rest of the features are similar to that of 3G model.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi is expected to release its flagship device, Mi4 in India soon.
"Please note that this is an important update! Ready for a few surprises from Mi?" reads Xiaomi India Facebook post, hinting that Mi4 could hit India stores soon.
