Xiaomi, the fastest growing smartphone vendor, is moving quickly to grab the lion's share of the fast-growing smartphone market in India. Following the massive success of Mi3 and Redmi 1S smartphones, the Chinese tech giant is all set to launch the most-awaited Redmi Note in India. The company is already inviting the press for a media event on Monday, where Xiaomi's boss Hugo Barra will unleash the Redmi Note to the eager Indian buyers, NDTV reported citing a copy of the invite.
Xiaomi already started building the hype for the upcoming device by holding a contest for Indian customers where it says, "Convince Mi you want Redmi Note." The contest required fans to create an art or design to show how badly they wish to win Xiaomi's tablet and it ended on Friday. The winners of the contest will be announced shortly, the company said.
Most notably, the launch of Redmi Note in India has gathered a lot of attention around the Chinese upstart company, which ranked third after Samsung and Apple in global smartphone shipments during the third quarter this year. The launch invitations follow Thursday's report that claimed Xiaomi's plans to start selling the latest tablet starting December 2.
Xiaomi is expected to follow its traditional sales method via Flipkart every Tuesday at 2 pm. Since the company has already confirmed the Redmi 1S sale on November 25, it appears the Redmi Note sales will begin on December 2. It also means that Tuesday's sale is the last for Redmi 1S, as the company traditionally discontinues the sales of an old device after a new one is launched.

Xiaomi has posted all the specifications of the device on an advertisement page, which confirmed that the Redmi Note will carry a 5.5-inch 720x1280 pixel IPS display with about 267ppi. Other specs include,
