Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has confirmed that Redmi Note 4G and Redmi 1S flash sale will kick off on 13 January with one lakh units up for grabs.
The company via official Facebook page on Monday confirmed there will be up to 50,000 models of Redmi Note 4G and another 50,000 units of Redmi 1S on Flipkart.
Like last week, company's e-commerce affiliate Flipkart will sell devices in separate time slots. Redmi Note 4G sale is set to go on sale at 2pm afternoon and Redmi 1S a little later in the evening at 5pm.
However, unlike previous times, Xiaomi on 13 January will fight for consumer's attention as its rival Micromax is also scheduled to kick-start YU Yureka flash sale on Amazon India at 2pm on 13 January.
One advantage for Xiaomi is that the company is selling close to one lakh smartphones compared to Micromax which has kept a meagre 10,000 units in its inventory. Xiaomi fans can even book Redmi Note 4G phone at Airtel shops in select cities across India.
Micromax's YU Yureka registration reportedly surpassed three lakh and the window was closed one day prior to the 25 December deadline. Despite so many registrations, company has announced to sell less than 3% of the actual requirement.
The new YU Yureka is no doubt an exceptional phone for its price tag of ₹8,999. It has created huge buzz among tech-savvy Indian youth. With limited stocks on offer, we expect angry fans to vent their ire on social media sites over the Micromax's dubious sale strategy.
Xiaomi too faced similar reactions from the Indian public in its initial days in the country and over time the company improved. We expect the same from Micromax to scale up its inventory in future flash sales.
