Xiaomi made a jaw dropping announcement on Monday, 29 June, following which the company slashed the price of its feature-rich budget phablet Redmi Note 4G in India on Tuesday, 30 June.
Redmi Note 4G has received a price cut of ₹2,000, reducing its original price of ₹9,999 to ₹7,999. Prospective buyers can avail cash discounts on all four Xiaomi affiliated e-commerce partners: Flipkart (HERE), Amazon India (HERE), Snapdeal (HERE) and their official Mi e-Store (HERE) as well.
The company is also running a promotional campaign, urging fans to share Xiaomi's announcement with their friends and express their views on why they like Redmi Note 4G in the comments section (HERE). One lucky contestant stands a chance to win a free phablet on 1 July.
The company has not explained the reason behind the cash discount offer on Redmi Note 4G, but many believe that Xiaomi is prepping the stage for the launch of the new generation phablet, dubbed as Redmi Note 2.

Redmi Note 4G sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display and it is powered by the Snapdragon 400 series quad-core CPU, backed by 2GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory and a massive 3100 battery that can run the phone for close to 775 hours under standby mode.
