Chinese consumer electronics giant, Xiaomi has launched two smartphones Redmi Note 4 and the Redmi 4X in Mexico.
"Mexico is a really important market for us and acts as our starting point to reach the rest of Latin America," Donovan Sung, director of product management and marketing for Xiaomi Global, said in a statement.

"We hope to continue growing our presence here with the constant support of our passionate Mi fans," Sung added.
The Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4X prices will start at 5,499 Mexican pesos (approx. $287/€264/Rs. 18,546) and 3,999 Mexican pesos (approx. $209/€192/Rs.13,487), respectively. The former will be made available Best Buy, Coppel and Sam's Club stores and online from Amazon, Best Buy, Elektra, Soriana and Walmart by the end of May. On the other hand, the latter is expected to be released little later in year.
Besides the smartphones, Xiaomi also unveiled Mi Community app for Android (via Google Play store), where fans can interact with fellow members and also avail special offers and participate contest to win gifts.
When will Xiaomi launch phones in US?
Though, Xiaomi has made its presence felt in US with launch of Mi Box (TV set-top-box) in October 2016, it is not considered has full-fledged entry, as the company's real money-spinner is the smartphone business.
With the latest announcement in Mexico, Xiaomi is certain to have similar plans for US market. Fans can expect it happen by the end of this year or early 2018.
So far, Xiaomi has set foot in India (2014), Brazil (2015), Russia (April 2017: Mi Mix and Mi Note 2) and now Mexico (May 2017).
The company is expected enter Turkey soon.
