Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 launch in India is nearing and the latest information reveals that the handset is going to be sold exclusively on Amazon India. The Chinese smartphone maker has already confirmed that the premium budget smartphone is going to be released in India on March 3, while a lot of speculation surrounds the price tag of the handset.
According to a BGR India report, Amazon India is conducting an online contest that strongly hints at the Redmi Note 3 launch. As per the contest page, users were asked to choose the specs they would like to see in their "dream phone." The best options available to choose from include a Snapdragon 650 and a 4,000mAh battery, which are some highlighted specs of the Redmi Note 3.
While there is a lot of competition in the budget smartphone space, Xiaomi is expected to price the Redmi Note 3 below Rs 15,000. At that price point, Xiaomi will have some strong contenders such as Lenovo K4 Note, LeEco Le 1s and Huawei Honor 5X, which pretty much offer the same or more specs and features.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and PDAF, and a 5MP front snapper. The handset has a full metal body with a fingerprint scanner at its back, which the company claims to unlock the device in less than a second. The Redmi Note 3 is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor, has a 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and 4,000mAh battery.
The handset also features dual SIM support with 4G LTE bandwidths and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based MIUI 7.
Considering the company's history of smartphone launches in India, registrations for the first flash sale for Redmi Note 3 could open Thursday.
