After announcing that it sold 6 lakh units of Redmi Note 3 smartphones in just two months of flash sales in India, Xiaomi is opening the next weekly sale for the affordable premium smartphone on May 18. Along with the Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi's flagship Mi 5 smartphone will also be available for purchase without registration on Wednesday from the company's official website.
The open sale for Xiaomi's two bestsellers will begin at 2 p.m. and run until stocks last. Considering how quick these units have been sold out in the past, prospective buyers are advised to act fast.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will be available in two variants — 2GB+16GB and 3GB+32GB, priced at Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 11,999, respectively. The handset comes in three colour options — silver, dark grey and gold. Buyers also have the option to register for the Redmi Note 3 sale on Amazon India, which begins at 2 p.m. on Wednesday for both variants. Xiaomi Mi 5, however, is exclusive to Mi.com/in and comes only in white with 32GB storage option for Rs. 24,999.
Xiaomi smartphones are quite worthy of the price they come in. The affordable Redmi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch full HD display, a 16MP primary camera with PDAF, dual LED flash and a 5MP front-snapper. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset and a 4,050mAh battery. The handset also offers a fingerprint sensor, metallic finish unibody, 4G LTE, and VoLTE with dual SIM support.
Xiaomi's flagship Mi 5 smartphone is a premium offering for those who cannot afford the high-priced Apple and Samsung flagships. The handset comes with a 5.15-inch full-HD display, a 16MP rear-facing camera with PDAF, OIS and dual LED flash, and a 2µm (micro-meter) pixel-based 4MP front snapper. It is powered by a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, 3GB DDR4 RAM and 32GB onboard storage. There's also a 3,000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
The Mi 5 also offers a USB Type-C port, refreshing design, fingerprint sensor, dual SIM, 4G LTE and VoLTE support. Both handsets run Android-based MIUI 7 UI.
