Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has been made available in India since March 9 via flash sales, and Amazon India, one of the online retailers that exclusively sell the handsets in the country, completed the fifth flash sale of the device Wednesday. The device is up for registration again for the sixth flash sale.
The Redmi Note 3 will be up for sale again at 2 p.m. April 13, and Amazon India has started taking registration. However, Xiaomi official website is open for registrations after the fourth flash sale last week.
Interestingly, the device was made available on Xiaomi website Wednesday as part of the Mi Fan Festival. It was up for grabs at three sales windows -- at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Devices usually run out of stock in a few seconds during flash sales but it was not the case with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Wednesday, as it was available for well over 10 minutes.
The fact that the new Xiaomi Mi 5 and the 20000mAh Mi Power Bank stocks lasted only for a few seconds indicated that the demand for the Redmi Note 3 has taken a nosedive. The device was also seen available on Amazon India for more than 10 minutes.
Registration for the next flash sale has begun again, but it appears like the company may start an open sale very soon, perhaps next week.
The Redmi Note 3 comes in two models -- 16GB internal storage with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage with 3GB RAM. The 16GB model comes with a price tag of Rs. 9,999 (around $137) and the 32GB variant is priced at Rs. 11,999 (around $168). It is available in gold, silver and dark grey colours.
The device has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (403 ppi pixel density). Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, an MIUI 7.0 based Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, a 16MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, a 5MP secondary camera with f/2.0, and a non-removable Li-Po 4,000mAh battery.
