Xiaomi is saving the big news for its 13 August event, but online leaks continue to spoil the surprise.
While it is widely believed that Xiaomi will unveil the Redmi Note 2 alongside its MIUI 7 OS tomorrow, new details of the unannounced handset have emerged, revealing the full spec-sheet along with its expected price. China's Oppomart listed the Redmi Note 2 on its online store for $199, which is approximately Rs.13,000.
Quite interestingly, the product listing also sheds more light on the features of the Redmi Note 2. According to the retailer, Redmi Note 2 will be powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage. The handset is said to feature a 5.5-inch Full HD 2D display and a uniquely crafted curved Corning Gorilla Glass at the back.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will sport a 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 sensor with dual-LED flash and zero shutter lag. On the front side, there's going to be a 5-megapixel snapper. The battery is expected to last long in the Redmi Note 2, as it packs a 3,600mAh unit. Other specifications include dual SIM support, 4G LTE support and MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1.
The leaked features in the latest listing are in line with previous leaks by various publications such as GSM Arena. Earlier on Monday, Chinese mobile tipster @KJuma shared an image of Redmi Note 2 and claimed the processor will be a 64-bit class MediaTek (MT6795) Helio X10 octa-core CPU.
Xiaomi hasn't confirmed any of the details, as it waits for the official unveiling of the handset tomorrow, after which Xiaomi will host the global launch of MIUI 7 on 19 August in India.
