Xiaomi recently launched two budget premium smartphones in India as it continues to strengthen its position in the world's second largest smartphone market. After selling out completely in the initial days after its launch, the Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime will be available once again on September 28.
Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime flash sales will be held exclusively on Mi.com and Flipkart at 12pm. The Redmi 3S, which comes with 16GB+2GB configuration, will cost Rs. 6,999 and the 32GB storage model with 3GB RAM and fingerprint scanner will be sold at Rs. 8,999.
Except for that difference, rest of the specifications of the Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime are the same. Both the phones have the same metallic design, 5-inch HD IPS display, 13MP primary camera, 5MP front snapper, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 CPU and Adreno 505 GPU.
They also support dual SIM cards, one of which doubles as a microSD card slot, 4G LTE and a 4,100mAh battery. Both the handsets come in three colour options -- gold, silver and grey.
In the first flash sale, the Redmi 3S Prime, which went on sale before the Redmi 3S, Xiaomi sold 90,000 units in just 8 minutes. The Redmi 3S went on sale in India for the first time on August 17. Although the company held an open sale for both of its budget phones in India, they were sold out in a matter of few minutes.
Ever since Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime were launched in August, several budget phones from different brands have been released. Moto E3 Power is one of the top selling sub-Rs. 10,000 smartphones in the market, having sold 100,000 units in the first 24 hours. Micromax launched a new competition, the Canvas 5 Lite, which goes on sale on September 30 on Snapdeal for Rs. 6,499.
