Just a couple of days ago, Xiaomi confirmed that its budget smartphone, the Redmi 3S, would be launched in India on Wednesday.
Unlike earlier occasions, Xiaomi will be hosting a virtual launch event this time. The company will webcast the programme hosted by Hugo Barra, the Vice President of Xiaomi (global), at 12:00 p.m. It will be streamed live on the Xiaomi community website.
The specification details of Xiaomi's Redmi 3S are already in the public domain, as it was originally unveiled in China back in June. But the price and variant of the Redmi 3S to be launched is not yet known. It comes in 2GB RAM+16GB storage and 3GB RAM+32GB storage configurations.
In China, Redmi 3S is sold in two models — 2GB RAM+16GB storage and 3GB RAM+32GB storage configurations for ¥699 (around $107/€94/Rs. 7,135) and ¥899 (around $136/€121/Rs. 9,177), respectively. We expect Xiaomi to sell the Redmi 3S with similar price range in India as well.
