Home-bred smartphone maker Micromax is set to launch the new smartphone dubbed as Canvas Spark next week.
Micromax has begun sending out invites for the Canvas Spark launch event scheduled on 21 April.
Speculations are rife that the new smartphone will be aggressively priced under ₹6,000 to give stiff challenge to the popular MNC brands - Xiaomi Redmi 2, Motorola Moto E (2 Gen) and Lenovo A6000 (& A6000 Plus) which are giving domestic players a run for their money in the budget handset category.
Numerous reports have indicated that Micromax Spark will sport a 4.7-inch screen and run on the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS powered by Mediatek quad-core SoC (System on Chip), expandable memory and house dual-SIM slots.
Other key features such as RAM, inbuilt memory, battery capacity and camera are yet to be ascertained. But it is confirmed to be released online exclusively on Snapdeal store by the end of April.
Besides Canvas Spark, Micromax is also working on the sub-brand YU series budget smartphone, which is also expected to get launched later this month.
