Xiaomi Redmi 1S Flipkart Flash Sale to Kick-off on 11 November [Update]

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is all geared-up for the tenth Redmi 1S flash sale in India.

Xiaomi's e-commerce affiliate, Flipkart, will kick-start the flash sale on 11 November afternoon (at 02:00 pm). Unlike the earlier sales, the company has not revealed the number of Redmi 1S units up for grabs Tuesday.

Lately the company has also stopped announcing the details related to the time taken to complete the flash sales. Usually the sales end within seconds, but for the last two weeks, it has become slow forcing Xiaomi to skip the sale-details after the event save for a thank you note.

The company head (India operation), Manu Jain, in an email reply to BGR India, said that the slow-down in flash sale was due to the Diwali festival and people going on long holidays.

"We believe this was because of people traveling during the festive period. We do not believe that this is of any concern, as we continue to see overwhelming response from our fans, even for next week's sale." Manu said.

But it might not all be due to the holiday season and more about consumer saturation. The company has been hosting flash sales of Redmi 1S in India since 2 September and has reportedly sold more than 6 lakh units so far. It seems like the Redmi 1S craze is slowing down and the fans that were unsuccessful in their previous attempt have now better chances of getting their hands on the elusive Xiaomi phone.

And also few weeks ago, Xiaomi faced some heat due to the IAF's (Indian Air Force) warning to its personnel and their family members to refrain from buying Redmi 1S for security reasons. This issue was later sorted out after it came to light that the advisory note was old and the ban on Redmi 1S was revoked much before it began selling in India.

Now back to Xiaomi's 11 November flash sale, the registration window will be open to public till 23:59 pm today (10 November) at Flipkart. Even those registered users who missed out on buying the Xiaomi phone on 04 November must re-apply.
