Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi is all geared up to begin the second flash sale on 9 September.
The company's exclusive e-retail partner, Flipkart has stocked 40,000 units for today's sale scheduled to kick-off at 2:00 PM.
Last week (on 2 September), Flipkart sold similar number of units and ran out of stock within a record 4.2 seconds. Today's flash sale is expected to be no different. Virtual stampede has been the order of Xiaomi devices sales since the first phone Mi3 was released last month.
Back then, the company had under estimated the demand and sold 10,000 and 20,000 units per flash sale. Due to shortage of stock the company even faced a barrage of angry comments from fans.
Despite doubling the stocks, Redmi 1S units flew of the shelves in a jiffy. Many fans opine that the company should import more units and create large enough inventory to lessen the deficit for the benefit of millions of prospective Indian consumers.
Rival Motorola seems to have learned its lesson from the first generation Moto G and reportedly imported close to 150,000 units of Moto G (Gen 2.) for the last week's sale. So far, it is continuing without any technical glitch.
For the uninitiated, Xiaomi Redmi 1S costs just ₹5,999 and features 4.7-inch IPS LCD screen with 720x1280p resolution, making it the cheapest HD phone in the Indian market. It is ₹1,000 lesser than the popular Motorola Moto E, which costs ₹6,999.
That's not all; it comes packed with Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS (with custom MIUI), 1.6GHz Snapdragon CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB) and a 2,000 mAh battery.
