With just a few days left before the launch, a couple of Xiaomi Mi5 photos have surfaced online shedding light on the flagship device's design and internal features.
Twitter spy Steve Hemmerstoffer (@stagueve) has posted two new images of Xiaomi Mi5 revealing that the device will house a physical home button with a metal ring on the front-panel at the bottom. Past reports had suggested that the home button would come integrated with fingerprint sensor similar to top-end Samsung and Apple smartphones. Once released, Mi 5 will be Xiaomi's first device to house a metal-based home button featuring biometric technology.
The second image shows the Xiaomi Mi 5's "About Phone" settings, which details internal features such as MIUI 7.0 (based on Android v6.0 Marshmallow), 2.1GHz Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor, 3GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt memory.
Aforementioned specifications are in line with previous reports, but the final outcome can be entirely different as there are speculations Xiaomi may unveil the Mi5 model with 4GB RAM. So, there is a possibility that Xiaomi might unveil two Mi5 variants. Stay tuned for more updates.
Xiaomi Mi5 is confirmed to be unveiled Feb. 24 in Beijing, China. The company is also showcasing the flagship phone at Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona on the same day.
