Xiaomi has reportedly confirmed that the flagship Mi4 and Redmi Note will be released in few months time in India.

Company's global head Hugo Barra in a chat with The Economics Times has revealed that Xiaomi Mi4 will be released around December end or early January 2015 and the feature-rich budget phablet Redmi Note in a couple of months time.

However, this is little contrary to Hugo's very own statement in August, where-in the global head had confirmed that Redmi 1S and Redmi Note will be made available in before Diwali holiday, but it seems like Xiaomi fans have to settle for the former model now.

The prime reason for postpone of Redmi Note is said to be related to logistics. India being a demanding market, company is making sure to keep huge stocks in the inventory prior to release, so that 100,000 units of Redmi Note can be shipped to India during weekly flash sale.

On the other hand, the delay in Xiaomi Mi4 launch in India has to do with the regulatory approval. The company is making arrangements to make Mi4 pass certifications, since the phone's hardware and antenna calibrations have to be adjusted to make it compatible with Indian network specifications.

On questioned over the prospects of Xiaomi Mi3's comeback to the country, the reply was negative. Barra said that the company has completely shut down the production of 2013 flagship phone to shift its focus on Xiaomi Mi4.

Though some stocks (few thousand units) of Mi3 are still available in the inventory, they have been held back for precautionary replacements for sold devices, which have few more months of company warranty. Once it is certain that the devices are no longer needed for replacement purposes, Mi3 might get released in a small flash sale, but won't be making a full fledged return.

Earlier this week, Xiaomi pulled a trick on fans by releasing a graphic poster, leading many to believe that the company might announce the release details of the highly anticipated Mi4 and Redmi Note in India.

The company's official social web-pages (both Twitter and Facebook) have displayed a blurred Diwali greeting picture with the date 8 October having a hidden message and a tag – "Tomorrow! Share ? ", hinting a new device launch might take place on Tuesday.

In the poster, we could cipher only the traditional Diya (mud based oil lamp), while the message was strategically faded to keep the suspense alive till 8 October announcement.

But, as it turned out, the company invited fans to share Xiaomi Diwali poster and participate in the new promotional campaign- 'Share the Light' and stand a chance to win free Redmi 1S smartphone and other exciting prizes, probably accessories like power bank, covers, in-ear head gears etc.
