The Chinese company, Xiaomi, is reportedly making plans to release the much-awaited 2014 flagship - Mi4 - in India next year.
While announcing the release details of Redmi Note at a press meet in Delhi, Xiaomi officials in an interaction with BGR India said Mi4 is expected to set foot in the subcontinent in early 2015.
"Things have taken a bit longer than we anticipated," said the executive, without detailing any time frame of Xiaomi Mi4 release.
The delay in Xiaomi Mi4 launch in India has to do with the regulatory approval. The company is making arrangements to make Mi4 pass certifications, since the phone's hardware and antenna calibrations have to be adjusted to make it compatible with Indian network specifications.
Similarly, Xiaomi too faced some problems to make the budget phablet Redmi Note available in India. Logistic issues had forced the company to delay the phablet release in India to December, which was supposed to make its debut before Diwali festival.
However, Xiaomi, now has confirmed that the Redmi Note (3G) flash sale will kick off at Flipkart on Tuesday, 2 December, whereas the 4G model is slated to hit select cities across India via Airtel shops, a little later in the month.
For the uninitiated, Xiaomi Mi4 flaunts 5.0-inch full HD display and runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS, 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 series quad-core CPU, 3GB RAM and 16/64GB inbuilt memory.
