Chinese consumer electronics giant, Xiaomi on 15 July officially launched the feature-rich budget smartphones Xiaomi Mi3, Redmi 1S and Redmi Note in India.
First up, Xiaomi Redmi Note is a phablet with a mammoth 5.5-inch HD IPS LCD screen. Under the hood, it comes packed with an Android OS, Octa-core processor, 13.0-megapixel camera, 5.0-megapixel snapper on front, and a high-capacity 3,100 mAh battery.
On the other hand, Xiaomi's Redmi 1S is mid-range smartphone. It flaunts a 4.7-inch HD (1280x720p) IPS LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 2 shield and ships with the Android Jelly Bean OS (with custom MIUI), 1.6GHz Snapdragon CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB) and a 2000 mAh battery.
As reported before, Xiaomi Mi3 is not only the cheapest, full HD smartphone in the market, it also boasts of magnesium alloy body with three layers of thermal graphite film and comes packed with the Qualcomm's superfast beast, 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor with Adreno 330 graphics engine.
This competitively priced Xiaomi (Mi3) phone is expected to pose a serious threat not only to low-cost India smartphone vendors, but also the tier-1 MNC players like Motorola (Moto X), Google-LG(Nexus 5), Samsung (Galaxy S5), HTC (One M8 & M7), Sony (Xperia Z2 & Z1) and others.
As of now, the company has announced that Xiaomi Mi-3 can be pre-registered at Flipkart for ₹13,999 and will be made available for sale on 22 July [Interested buyers who want to jump the line can pre-register the device (here ) by 21 July]. Xiaomi Redmi 1S and Note are priced at ₹6,999 and ₹9,999 respectively, however the details regarding the release details of these two devices are still under wraps.
