Gadget lovers, who have been eagerly waiting to grab the Xiaomi Mi3, are running out of patience, as the device gets over just a few second after it's being out for sale on its e-commerce partner, Flipkart. But the good news is you can buy the new smartphone from online retailers like eBay, Quikr and OLX.
As Xiaomi Mi3 witnessed its fifth flash sale on Tuesday, selling 20,000 units in just 2.3 seconds, several resellers from across India are reselling sealed and unopened Xiaomi Mi3 handsets on online retailers like eBay, Quikr and OLX. However, buyers have to shell out more money for the resold handsets as the prices range from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 as against the original price of ₹13,999.
Flipkart has got the exclusive right to sell the Xiaomi Mi3 but officials said that they can't stop people from reselling the device though they have requested the concerned websites to try to stop it. Interestingly, reselling has happened although a person can purchase only one device per week.
"We can't legally stop them from selling it (Mi 3) after buying, but we're working with Flipkart to put some checks and balances in place," Manu Jain, India's head of operations for Xiaomi, told Economic Times.
"We underestimated the demand, but we're trying to ramp up production. It will take us a few more weeks to do so, but future quantities will be significantly higher," he added.
Xiaomi has been facing problem ever since it was released a few weeks ago because of too much demand and less supply. Frustrated fans even resorted to trolling the company on Twitter after failing to get the device despite several attempts. Even rival companies have made fun of the company's inability to meet the demand of gadget lovers.
The Chinese handset maker once again opened the registration window for Xiaomi Mi3 scheduled for 26 August sale at 6:00pm on Tuesday.
