The smartphone manufacturing segment of Xiaomi, Mi India, has announced their 5-inch 4G variant smartphone. The Redmi Note is also available with dual-SIM 3G variants.
Xiaomi claims the Redmi Note 4G as the first 4G smartphone, tailored specifically for the Indian 4G network. The phone has been launched with an exclusive partnership with Airtel, one of the leading 4G network providers in India.
As part of the Airtel partnership, Redmi Note 4G will retail at select Airtel stores in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chennai.
Both the 3G and 4G versions of Redmi Note will be sold through Mi India's e-commerce partner, Flipkart.
The 5.5-inch Redmi Note 4G device will be retailed for ₹9,999. The Redmi Note 4G is a dual band LTE phone, which will work on both TDD-2300 MHz and FDD-1800 Mhz 4G frequency bands.
Registration for the 3G version of Redmi Note will begin on Flipkart at 6pm on 25 November 2014, with the sale starting at 2pm on 2 December 2014.
Redmi Note 4G will be available at Airtel stores by the end of December. Customers will need to register online before visiting Airtel stores to purchase the device. Registration will start by mid-December with more details coming soon.
