Xiaomi fans must be eagerly waiting for the announcement of the flagship device Mi 5 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2016 (MWC 2016), but Indian fans will be disappointed to know that the company has delayed the release of some of its products in the country.
The Chinese consumer electronics giant is not planning to release all its products in India, reported Tech Radar. It went on to say the launch of products like Xiaomi Mi TV, Mi Band 1s and Mi air purifiers has been postponed. Xiaomi will expand its e-commerce operations and strengthen its hold in the smartphone market in India this year, the website quoted company's head in India Manu Jain as saying.
The company has also ventured into television sets. It launched the Mi TV 3 recently, succeeding the Mi TV 2, which was released last year. The Mi TV 3 comes with a 70-inch display with a 3,840x2,160 pixel resolution. Priced at CNY 9,999 (about Rs 1 lakh), the smart TV also comes with features like a quad-core MStar 6A928 processor clocking at 1.4 GHz, 8GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, a micro USB port, a USB 3.0 port, an ethernet port, three HDMI ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 2.5-inch stereo speakers with Bass Boost and Dolby DTS Virtual Surround Sound.
Measuring 37x13.6x9.9mm in dimension, the Mi Band 1s comes with a heart-rate sensor and is priced at CN Y99. There are also a couple of air purifier models available in the market. The company launched Air Purifier 2 last year and it came with a price tag of CNY 699.
