For the last few months, rumours were rife that the Xiaomi's upcoming Mi Note 2 might come in one CPU model, having the Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 821 processor. Now, new details have emerged from China that there will be a low-end variant, as well.
A Chinese Weibo user has posted a configuration of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 models- one, having Snapdragon 821+128GB memory+6GB RAM and another with Snapdragon 820+32GB+4GB RAM.
Though there is no valid proof to authenticate the aforementioned information, it is still possible to turn true considering the fact the 2015 series came with two models- Mi Note and Mi Note Pro. So, its safe to assume the 2016 series Xiaomi phablets might also come with a generic Mi Note 2 and another high-end model Mi Note 2 Pro.
The tipster (via Android Pure) also added that both the devices will boast 3D curved glass, an upgraded version of 2.5D silicon-based guard, which are usually used in top-end phones to protect display getting damaged at the corners. Thus, confirming Mi Note 2 series will be coming with dual-edge display like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Note7 series.
Other expected features of Mi Note 2 series:
From what we have gathered so far, Mi Note 2 series is expected to feature Type-C port, fingerprint sensor, dual 16MP primary camera with 4-axis OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), dual-tone LED flash on the back and a 4,000 mAh battery.
Word on the street is that the Mi Note 2 series might get unveiled by the end of September or in early October.
