Several Xiaomi smartphones are expected to be in the pipeline and some already have an official launch date. Xiaomi Mi 5s and Mi Note 2 smartphones are expected to be launched later this month, but a new premium smartphone is looking to share the limelight. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Pro was leaked online to reveal key features to its fans.
The leaked photo doesn't reveal the actual device, but it is an alleged screenshot taken from the unreleased smartphone. Based on the leaked screenshot, which was shared on China's social networking site Weibo, the Mi Note 2 Pro will sport a Snapdragon 821 chipset clocked at 2.6GHz and an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The leaked info also revealed that the rumoured handset will run Android Nougat with MIUI 8 out-of-the-box. But the authenticity of the leaked screenshot is undetermined.
While these details sum up everything that can be taken from the leaked screenshot, the Mi Note 2 Pro has made several rounds in the past. The handset was rumoured to be launched in several events, but it clearly missed the target.
Xiaomi had followed up the launch of Mi Note with Mi Note Pro last year. If the rumoured device is indeed Mi Note 2 Pro, we can expect the device to be launched shortly after the release of the Mi Note 2, which is said to happen at an event on September 27.
From what we have heard, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Pro will feature a dual curved display screen on both front and rear panels, a fingerprint scanner on the front, a dual camera setup and a USB Type-C port. As for the Mi Note 2 specs, rumours are that it will have a 5.7-inch 2K display, metal unibody, a fingerprint scanner, 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support, Snapdragon 821 SoC, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is also expected to have 16MP dual camera setup, a 5MP front snapper and run Android Nougat based MIUI 8, just like the Mi Note 2 Pro. The Mi Note 2 will come in 64GB and 128GB variants, costing ¥2,499 (approximately Rs 25,000) and ¥2,799 (approximately Rs 28,200), respectively.
