It looks like the highly expected Xiaomi Mi Note 2 flagship smartphone would be released earlier than expected as new reports have put up live images of the purported handset. An interesting aspect to note is that Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun had very recently stated that loyalists would be offered a "surprise" during the official unveiling of the Mi Note 2.
Now newly surfaced images, originating from Chinese social network Weibo, have only contributed to the increase in anxiety among Xiaomi loyalists eagerly awaiting the launch of the Mi Note 2. Gauging the newly surfaced images (Click the below link to check these out), the super-thin outer edges of the smartphone are evident. If this design mechanism is indeed incorporated within the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, it would be a first for for the China-based company as its recent handsets have predominantly featured a thick outer frame.
The smartphone in the new image is speculated to be the next-gen Xiaomi Mi Note 2. Also, the rumoured super-thin outer form factor could be the "surprise" element that Lei Jun had recently hinted at.
However, the latest rumours do not throw any light on what the key technical specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 would be. Going by what is already known, the next-gen flagship could offer its users a relatively-large 5.7-inch display, a 16 MP dual rear cameras and 6GB of RAM on-board. Under-the-hood, the Mi Note 2 is also rumoured to feature a more recent Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC.
The above technical details, even though unofficial at this point in time, inadvertently point at a potential high price-tag around the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. As far as the handset's launch timeline is concerned, unofficial sources (having a fair degree of credibility) newly hint at a pre-November 2016 time frame.
