The long-rumoured Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has appeared on a popular benchmarking site, revealing key specifications of the upcoming flagship phablet.
Xiaomi Capricorn, understood to be the codename of the Mi Note 2 is listed in the Geekbench website. As per the mark sheet (courtesy, Android Headlines), it scores an impressive 2,335 and 5,659 points in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.
In the system description, the device is shown to have Android Marshmallow OS, 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon (MSM8996) quad-core processor with 3GB RAM.
Considering the specifications, Mi Note 2 mentioned in the Geekbench might just be the prototype, not the final model, as Xiaomi is known to test multiple models with different configurations. Based on performance, it will select a model for mass production.
Prior to Xiaomi Mi 5 launch, the company had revealed that it had built over five prototypes before finalising the device for mass production.

Furthermore, 3GB RAM standard is now outdated in the smartphones in 2016, most of which come with a minimum of 4GB. Some handful of recently released devices such as OnePlus 3, Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe and LeEco Le Max 2 house 6GB RAM.
We believe the model spotted in the Geekbench is likely pass the certification and the company might beef up the RAM capacity to 6GB and also use Qualcomm's recently unveiled Snapdragon 821, as it said to be faster and 10 percent more powerful than Snapdragon 820 seen in current crop of flagship phones.
