In 2016, Xiaomi Mi Mix set the benchmark for bezel-less display in the smartphone industry and the company followed it up with the Mi Mix 2 with a refined design optimised for better one-hand operation and now, it is working on it successor, which is slated to debut in 2018.
A photo (courtesy, Slash Leaks) of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3's back panel has surfaced online shedding light on the device's design language. In the image, the shell seems to resemble the design of the iPhone X's rear, but with minor changes.
The dual camera capsule space aligned vertically on the top left side is identical to the Apple's latest mobile. A key difference is that the device has a separate circular space in the centre, most probably for the fingerprint sensor and below, it also has the 'MI MIX DESIGNED BY XIAOMI' vertical engraving similar to the Mi Mix 2.
There is no word whether this is the finalised shell for the Mi Mix 3, but many hope it doesn't have the uneven bulge on the back like we see in the iPhone X.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3: What we know so far
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is slated to come in the second half of 2018, so it will be having all the latest hardware on par with rival brands and most likely to feature bezel-less screen having 18:9 display aspect ratio.
Under the hood, it is said to be coming packed with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB/8GB RAM options, 64GB/128GB/256GB storage options and as per the leaked image, it will be coming with dual-camera having Bokeh blur effect, which was sorely missed in the current Mi Mix 2 series.
Before the Mi Mix 3, Xiaomi is expected to announce flagship Mi 7 series phones around March 2018.
